Jeju Seogwipo-si

Rural accommodation with a lawn

At first, I was a bit taken aback because the location was deep in the countryside, surrounded entirely by fields; however, waking up to the view of Sanbangsan Mountain and the rural scenery visible from the windows was truly lovely. Hamo Beach, located within walking distance, has very fine sand and shallow water, making it perfect for playing in the sand and water with young children. After 4 PM, the tide goes out, and many children come to catch crabs. There are plenty of delicious places to eat near Moseulpo Port, and I was amazed by the sheer size of the Daejeong 5-Day Market, which opens on dates ending in 1 or 6. Regarding the accommodation, it initially felt a bit unorganized—looking lived-in—and the layout of furniture and amenities differed from the photos, making me wonder if I had arrived at the right place. There was a general lack of information regarding things like boiler operation and trash disposal, so it would be great if those aspects could be addressed. While there were air conditioners in every room, it got quite hot while eating in the kitchen, so a fan would have been a nice addition. That said, the hosts kindly lent us necessary items like a parasol and camping chairs. We really enjoyed the experience of living in a house with a yard; there was a six-person dining set under the eaves for outdoor meals, and the lawn was beautiful. My three-year-old child even said they wanted to live in a house with a yard after our month-long stay. The host's parents, who live on the second floor, shared vegetables, fruits, and even Chuseok food with us—we were so grateful and enjoyed it all!

Gyeongsangbuk-do Gyeongju-si

Private Country House (2-Story)

This accommodation was just as memorable as the sightseeing itself during my trip to Gyeongju. It was a place where I could stay comfortably—feeling just like home—amidst beautiful scenery and a quiet atmosphere. Upon arrival, a welcome fruit platter greeted us, setting a pleasant tone for the trip. What impressed me most was the thoughtful attention to detail regarding the amenities. The kitchen was stocked with essentials like olive oil and salt, as well as laundry detergent and fabric softener. The bathroom was fully equipped with cleansing foam, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and there was an ample supply of towels. There was not only a hair dryer but also a hair straightener, along with power strips and insect/mosquito repellent. I found items that one might need at some point during a stay placed conveniently throughout the house; it was clear the host had prepared everything meticulously with the guest's perspective in mind. The bedding was comfortable, and the house was well-ventilated, making for a pleasant stay. The potted plants inside added a lovely, warm touch to the space. Located in a quiet residential area of detached houses, it was wonderful to relax while gazing at the surrounding scenery, and the proximity to tourist attractions made getting around very convenient. Traveling with a child, I especially appreciated the front yard. Having a space where my child could run and play made our time at the accommodation truly enjoyable. The host even invited us to try vegetables from their garden, allowing us to feel their genuine warmth and hospitality. Above all, I was grateful for how kindly the host treated my child. They chatted frequently with my child, and their affection felt so natural—it really warmed my heart as a parent. It was also reassuring to know that the Dongguk University Hospital emergency room was nearby in case of a sudden illness during the trip. (I actually ended up visiting the hospital for an emergency; having a hospital available for proper treatment while traveling is truly a great thing.) Comfortable bedding, well-stocked amenities, beautiful surroundings, a yard for my child to play in, and the kindness of the hosts. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone looking to spend a relaxing and heartwarming time in Gyeongju with their children. Thank you to the host.
