This apartment is located in a mixed-use building right across from the Dongdaemun wholesale markets and offers a view of Cheonggyecheon Stream. There is no elevator. It is situated directly above the stations for Subway Lines 1, 2, and 4. (Line 2 is about 200 meters away.) The living room sofa converts into a bed. There are two beds in total: an IKEA bed and the sofa bed. We can set up the baby crib shown in the photo if you let us know in advance.
*It is located directly above the exit of the Dongdaemun Daiso. (Pass through exit 8-1 of the Dongdaemun Underground Shopping Center—towards Dongdaemun Station Exit 7—and go up the stairs at Exit 1.) *It is a mixed-use apartment complex located near Exit 1 of Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station. *In terms of location, I believe it offers the most convenient transportation access in Seoul.
This is a flexible accommodation with few restrictions. Smoking is permitted in the open-air hallway. The building is somewhat dated due to upcoming redevelopment, but it is perfectly comfortable to use. (Please note, however, that it is a 5th-floor walk-up with no elevator.) *The base rate is for one person; an additional fee (30,000 KRW per day) applies for each extra person. *There is also an additional fee for pets (30,000 KRW per day). *Reservations are available for up to 5 people. (However, the Ondol—Korean floor heating—setup allows 6–7 people to sleep comfortably.) There is no TV or washing machine, but please feel free to ask about anything you need before your stay. We will provide whatever is possible.
Dongdaemun dawn markets and wholesale markets. DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza). Naksan Fortress Wall Trail. The hillside village of Hyehwa-dong, located below Naksan. Gwangjang Market. Heunginjimun Gate (Dongdaemun). Dongdaemun General Market (wholesale and retail for fabrics, accessories, garment notions, curtains, hanbok, bedding, etc.). Right next door is the Jongno 5-ga Grilled Fish Alley (famous for "Dakhanmari" whole chicken soup, too). Jewelry shops and workshops line the streets and back alleys between Jongno 5-ga and Jongno 3-ga. Seosunra-gil, located next to Jongmyo Shrine, is also a must-visit spot. Traveling along National Route 1 allows you to visit Jongmyo Shrine, Insadong, Kyobo Book Centre, Gwanghwamun & Gyeongbokgung Palace, Deoksugung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, Changgyeonggung Palace, and the Bukchon & Seochon villages. Jongno 5-ga Flower and Tree Market. Jongno 5-ga features wholesale pharmacies and clinics renowned for weight loss and hair growth treatments. Dongmyo Flea Market is also just 10 minutes away.
