An acquaintance recommended this guesthouse, so I booked it. I struggled to haul my 25kg suitcase up to the fourth floor of a building with no elevator, only for the landlord to list a bunch of peculiar rules and tell me I could go elsewhere if I didn't like it—can you believe the nerve? Since I already had so much luggage, I had no choice but to stay for nearly two and a half months. There was a camera in the living room; the landlord claimed it was for security against theft, but I suspect it was actually there to spy on the guests. They must have had some bad experiences with guests before I arrived. It was an incredibly unpleasant stay. I felt like I was being watched every time I went out or used the bathroom; I came to Jeju to heal, but instead, I’m leaving with nothing but stress. Also, the listing said pets were allowed... I chose the place because there was no mention of a resident cat... If the listing had mentioned the cat from the start, I wouldn't have even considered this place... They should at least take proper care of the cat. The cat must have rubbed itself all over my shoes; I found cat hair actually embedded in the leather... I’m never going back—I do not recommend it. Please list any special conditions in the description. It only had a window-unit AC, so it was sweltering hot the moment I stepped away from the bed. I tried to be considerate and save on electricity by keeping the AC set to 28°C, but the landlord complained about the high bill—claiming they usually spend less than 50,000 won in the summer... Then they actually told me, a guest renting just one room, that I had to pay the difference—what kind of logic is that? When I asked to see the actual bill, they just showed me a mobile app...
Hello. I have read the review you left. I would like to clarify the facts to prevent any misunderstandings: our space is a rental-style "share house," not a short-term "guesthouse." • Guidance and consideration upon move-in Although you stated the purpose of your stay was travel, you arrived with a volume of belongings comparable to a full household move. My remark that you were "free to go elsewhere if you weren't satisfied" was an act of consideration, offering you a choice before the contract was finalized. Furthermore, even though your intended length of stay was uncertain, I accommodated your request to extend your stay, even turning down other reservations to do so. • Condition upon checkout and conduct During your stay, you lacked basic etiquette—such as carelessly leaving trash around and soiling the floors—forcing me to clean up after you multiple times without complaint. Upon checkout, you only removed the general trash after repeated requests, and you ultimately left the food waste behind. • Living room CCTV and pet cat The living room CCTV is for security and safety purposes, covering only the entryway and living area; it is not intended for monitoring personal privacy. Additionally, true to the name "Nuri House," the presence of a resident cat was clearly stated in the listing description from the very beginning. • Electricity bill settlement Contrary to the stated purpose of travel, you rarely went out and kept the air conditioner running all day for two and a half months. The charge was issued legitimately in accordance with the rules specified in the listing, after transparently showing you the objective power usage and cost trends via the official KEPCO app. I deeply regret that, despite extending your stay and remaining here for a long period, you failed to fulfill basic obligations and left a malicious review containing false information. I ask that you carefully review the listing description and house rules in the future.
I had a comfortable and relaxing stay. The host was also kind and nice.
I really enjoyed having you stay here—everything went smoothly! Please come back again sometime! You're always welcome :)
