Our family of four rented this place for a month while our home was being renovated, but the attic-style layout made it uncomfortable for us to live in. It was particularly difficult because we are tall. There are no windows for ventilation—including in the bathroom—and the downstairs neighbors constantly leave their front door open. They seem to eat fish often, as the smell drifts right up to our unit; we couldn't cook here at all. Odors kept rising from the kitchen sink, so I had to buy a cover for it on the very first day. Even when the weather is cool, we can't turn off the air conditioner because there is no ventilation. I’ve regretted a hundred times not paying a bit more to stay in an apartment instead. We ended up spending more on food, too. That said, the location is very convenient, with plenty of great restaurants and proximity to the academy district.
To put it bluntly, I absolutely do not recommend this place. First, I was greeted by an unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke upon entering. Even though I’m not particularly fastidious about cleanliness, the state of the room was so unsatisfactory that I ended up cleaning the floor myself. There was a sewage odor coming from the sink area, the bathroom sink's pop-up drain was broken, the under-sink piping wasn't properly installed, and there were no pillows—overall, the place felt woefully unprepared. They did resolve these issues when I requested it via chat, though. However, the biggest problem was that a faulty electrical outlet caused the refrigerator to lose power, spoiling all the food in the freezer. When I raised this issue, they acknowledged the faulty outlet—admitting they were already aware of the problem—yet flatly refused to compensate for the spoiled food, insisting the fault lay entirely with the consumer. It was truly absurd. Aside from the waste of food, the faulty connection caused a crackling electrical sound, making me anxious about potential power outages or electrical fires; however, since finding alternative accommodation was difficult, I had no choice but to stay out the remainder of my booking. There were plenty of other disappointing aspects considering the price, but I’ll leave it at that.
I stayed here for six weeks during my home renovation. There are plenty of great restaurants nearby, and I had a wonderful stay.
