Pros) The interior is stylish; it was personally right up my alley. Gaps in the walls and floors seem well-sealed; I never saw a single cockroach. Towels and bedding were provided. The Smart TV supported OTT services and YouTube, which was great. Electricity and water were included, so I could use the air purifier, dehumidifier, A/C, heating, and hot water without worrying about the cost. The owner (or manager) was helpful whenever I mentioned an issue. They replaced the bathroom screen, which reduced the number of bugs, and provided a power strip when I ran short on outlets. Shampoo, body wash, lotion, dish soap, and tableware were provided. Short-term rentals vary, but it was convenient that everything was supplied here. Cons) There were way too many flying insects. Other issues were manageable, making this practically the only downside, but it was a major one. I rarely cooked and sealed food immediately, yet I’d come back to find about ten of them flying around. They’d fly at my face or land on my food while I was eating—it was enough to drive me crazy. I really hate cockroaches and just wanted to avoid them, but I realized that even tiny bugs can be a huge nuisance. They were hard to catch because they were so small. Toward the end, I tried using an enzyme cleaner in the drains; it reduced the number from ten to five, but if I skipped a day, the population would bounce right back. The cleaner was pricey, so I couldn't keep using it, and eventually, I just gave up and stopped caring. While some likely came from outside, the building is old and on the ground floor, so most seemed to be coming up through the drains. Since replacing the screens got rid of larger flying insects like mosquitoes, these smaller ones seemed to be an internal issue. It didn't seem like something I could fix quickly without a plumbing expert, so I just resigned myself to the situation. Also, the window faces the ground-floor pilotis area rather than the outside, so no sunlight enters, making it impossible to dry laundry. You can use a coin laundry for washing and drying, though the cost sometimes feels a bit wasteful. There is no separate ventilation fan, so the dehumidifier needs to run constantly during the summer; it works fine when running. +The wooden side table has developed an odor—likely from absorbing moisture—so I’d like to suggest replacing it.
