There is Nam Mireuksa Temple, the best flower photo spot in Korea, and many wonderful festivals such as the Cherry Blossom Festival, Hydrangea Festival, and Hamel Festival. Gangjin is especially home to Dasan Chodang and Sa-ui-jae, where Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, who wrote Mokminsimseo and Gyeongseyupyo, lived, and Yeongrang Saengga, the birthplace of poet Kim Yeong-rang during the Japanese colonial period. In Byeongyeong-myeon, where Jeolla Byeongyeongseong, which governed Jeju and Jeolla, was located, there is the only Dutch-style stone wall path in Korea left by Hamel, the author of Hamel's Journal of a Shipwreck, who missed his hometown, and a bulgogi street.
