-Introduction- Welcome to Dongshindang, a healing space in Dasungumi Village. (*Dasungumi is a Jeolla-do dialect term meaning "sunny" or "well-lit.") The name "Dongshindang" originates from the traditional herbal medicine clinic my father opened in Honam-dong, Mokpo, in 1975—a place where he dedicated his life to treating the sick. Just as the name once signified healing for those who visited the original clinic, I hope it now offers comfort to those who visit us today. We invite you to take a relaxing break here at Dongshindang, amidst the warm sunshine and the scent of the sea. We are located close to the Modern Cultural History Museum, a central hub for travel in Mokpo. It is a five-minute walk to the passenger ferry terminal serving Jeju Island, Heuksando, and Hongdo. The seaside area near Mokpo Bridge is a five-minute drive away.
