It is a 3-minute walk from Maetdol Sundubu, a famous restaurant in Bukgun-dong, Gyeongju. It is a 5-minute walk from the Donggungwon bus stop. It is a 15-minute drive to Hwangnidan-gil, 8 minutes to Gyeongju World, 20 minutes to Bulguksa Temple, and 15 minutes to the Gyeongju Interchange.
*Guidelines for Visiting Caretakers Stray cats are easily frightened; please watch over them with a gentle heart. Stray cats dislike loud noises and sudden movements. Please move slowly and speak in a gentle voice during your stay. *Stray Cat Feeding Stations Feeding time is between 8 PM and 10 PM daily. Please place an appropriate amount of food in the bowls and provide fresh water from the tap. There are two feeding stations: one in front of the main house entrance and another next to the annex. Five cans of special treat food are provided. You may choose which days to serve them. Please place the canned food on the yellow tray located in front of the entrance. *Important Notices Smoking is prohibited indoors. Please do not bring stray cats inside the house. As this is an older house, please understand that the water pressure may not be very strong. Due to the nature of Hanok (traditional Korean houses), there may be drafts during the winter. Please be aware that, as this is a detached house, it is susceptible to insects.
*Also... Bomun is a wonderful neighborhood for a walk. As it is a tourist area, the walking paths are well-maintained (thanks to APEC). I had a wonderful week-long stay. The place was not only beautiful and spotless, but it was also far superior to most standard vacation rentals; considering peak-season weekend rates, you get your money's worth after just two nights. Even though it’s located in the Bomun Complex, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the surrounding Hanok-style houses really make you feel the authentic vibe of Gyeongju every time you return to the accommodation. Famous local eateries like Maetdol Sundubu and Hamyangjip are right out front. After enjoying a dinner of Hanwoo *mulhoe* (cold raw beef soup), it takes only about 15 minutes by car to reach the Woljeonggyo Bridge public parking lot. The location was perfect for enjoying the night views of Woljeonggyo Bridge, Cheomseongdae Observatory, and Donggung Palace & Wolji Pond. During the hot afternoons, time flew by as I enjoyed the swing in the yard and dabbled in various activities in the "hobby room." The facilities—including the kitchen, laundry room, and dryer—were also better than expected. I’d love to visit again in the autumn if I get the chance!
