First of all, the host didn't even give us the apartment we booked and paid for. He assigned us a completely different unit in the building and completely ignored us when we brought it up. The apartment was in terrible condition with a massive amount of mold. We haven't stopped coughing since we arrived, and we could even hear the rest of the building coughing as well! The unit was filthy and clearly hadn't been cleaned: thick dust everywhere, an extremely dirty air conditioner, and a mess of dirt and left-behind objects under the beds. The mattress was horribly hard, with all the springs sticking out. To top it off, despite the listing photos clearly showing sheets and pillows, there were no sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, soap, or even toilet paper provided. The host never warned us about any of this in advance. Living in these unsanitary conditions made us sick. Totally unacceptable.
