33m2 Guide
How Do Payments Work on 33m2?
Paying for a rental in Korea with an international card can raise questions about currency, card approval, and refunds.
This guide explains what to know before paying on 33m2 and what to check if something does not go as expected.
1. Can I Pay with an International Card?
33m2 accepts internationally issued Visa, Mastercard, American Express, JCB, and UnionPay cards.
All payments are processed in Korean won (KRW). If your card uses another currency, your card issuer will convert the amount into your card’s billing currency. The exchange rate and any overseas transaction fees are determined by your card issuer.
Payments must be completed through the secure online payment process in the 33m2 app. Overseas bank transfers and manual card payments are not supported.
2. What If There’s a Problem with My Payment or Refund?
When a Payment Fails
International card payments may sometimes be declined because of your card issuer’s security settings or overseas payment restrictions.
First, make sure your card is enabled for international online payments and complete any additional verification required by your card issuer.
If the payment still fails:
- Check that your card information is correct.
- Wait about 30 minutes and try again.
- Try another card that supports international online payments.
- Contact your card issuer to check whether there are any restrictions on the transaction.
Payment approval may also be affected by your card issuer’s security policies or the environment in which the payment is attempted.
If you still cannot complete the payment after checking with your card issuer, contact 33m2 Customer Support for assistance.
Card Refund Process
Refunds are processed through the original card transaction. Depending on the situation, all or part of the original payment will be canceled rather than refunded as a separate cash deposit.
For internationally issued cards, it may take up to approximately one month for the refund to appear on your card statement, depending on your card issuer.
Because both the original payment and refund are converted from KRW, exchange-rate changes may cause a small difference between the amount originally charged and the final refund amount shown in your local currency.
If you still cannot find the refund after the expected processing period, contact 33m2 Customer Support. A partial cancellation receipt or an Acquirer Reference Number (ARN) may be provided to help your card issuer trace the refund.
3. What Else Should I Know About Paying on 33m2?
Q. Are there any payment limits or installment options?
33m2 does not set a separate card payment limit. However, your card issuer may apply its own daily, overseas, or online payment limits.
Installment availability also depends on your card issuer. Internationally issued cards may not support installment payments through 33m2.
Q. Can I pay by bank transfer or in my local currency?
No. Overseas bank transfers, including payments through IBAN or SWIFT, are not supported.
All payments on 33m2 are processed in Korean won (KRW). If your card uses another currency, your card issuer will convert the amount into your card’s billing currency.
